Saying Grace before meals is a great way for the family to bond and for each individual or the family to reflect on the gifts that God has provided for them.

The standard prayer is as follows:

Bless us,
O Lord,
and these your gifts,
which we are about to receive
from your bounty.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Our family like to insert things we are grateful for or we prayer for those in need prior to saying Amen. For example, we might add:

• Thank God for allowing us to join a meal together, as many families may not get to enjoy such a gift.
• We pray for all the Mommies and Daddies that work hard to take care of their families
• We pray for those who may have to skip a meal

And we close it with an Amen.

Once the Grace prayer is over we close with a Hail Mary or Our Father just to remind ourselves about God a little more.
