Preparing Yourself For Prayer

1. Be Still: Find a quiet place at home, on the road, etc…
   • Some people set out a Bible, this simple prayer booklet, a candle, a Rosary or a Cross
   • Take a deep breath, and relax
2. Clear Your Mind: Try the Introduction Prayer
3. Repent: Tell God you are sorry for your Sins, don’t make excuses … reflect on the Penitential Act 
4. Surrender: Tell Jesus you surrender to Him. Ask Him what He wants you to do and not for things you want Jesus to do for you.
5. Love: Ask God hold you and feel His Love.
6. Feel the Words: End by saying The Our Father or another prayer from this website and say it slowly. Feel the depth in each line of the prayer and think about what it says to you.
